Published: 9/24/2009 Congressman Don Manzullo (R-IL) today questioned economics professors from Harvard and the University of Chicago about a provision in the Consumer Financial Protection Agency bill that would give the FDIC a "blank check" to bailout underperforming companies on Wall Street with taxpayer funds. The economists -- Jeffrey Miron, Director of Undergraduate Studies at the Harvard Department of Economics, and John Cochrane, Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, both expressed grave concerns with the legislation.
